- VLC media player - VLC media player 是一款完全免費、影音品質高的DVD播放軟體，它能夠支援時下絕大多數的影音檔案，例如 .avi 、 .mpeg 、 .rm 、 .mp3 、 .mov……等常見的影音格式，就連必須連上網路進行播放的串流媒體通訊協定（mms://）它也能照撥無誤。VLC media player 的另一項特色是能夠將影片的播放直接嵌入桌面，讓使用者的桌面背景直接就是正在播放的影片，如此就能夠可以一邊操作桌面上的工作、一邊觀看影片囉。
- KMPlayer - 一套將網路上所有能見得到的解碼程式(Codec)全部收集於一身的影音播放軟體；只要安裝了它，你不用再另外安裝一大堆轉碼程式，KMPlayer還能夠播放DVD與VCD、匯入多種格式的外掛字幕檔、使用普及率最高的WinAMP音效外掛與支援超多種影片效果調整選項等。
多媒體剪輯
- MPEGPlayer，可以分離影片與聲音的影片播放軟體，可以擷取VCD或mPG檔案的特定畫面，還可以擷取某一段或者整個影片儲存到硬碟中。更厲害的是，MPEGPlayer 還可以分離影片和聲音的部分，以及將好幾段影片接在一起。

多媒體轉檔 - DVD2AVI，將 VOB 檔案轉成 MPEG4/MP3 格式，轉檔速度相當快。(GPL)
- EO-Video，可以轉換與播放 RM, ASF, WMF, AVI, MPEG , MOV, WMA, WAV, MP3 檔...的超強軟體工具。
- StreamBox Ripper，可以將
rm, ra, wav, cda, mp3 格式的音效檔或 audio cd 轉換成 mp3, wma, wav 格式。 - Tinra，可將 RealMedia (.rm、.ram、.ra) 檔轉成 AVI 檔。轉換的品質雖不夠令人滿意，但不失為一個方法。但是，使用者需安裝有 RealPlayer G2 以後的版本才行。Tinra 是一個 Dos 下的程式，所以我們必需利用 Dos 指令來執行它。用法如 tinra file:aaa.rm bbb.avi 即可。(Freeware) (for Win)

- xmms，外觀類似 WinAmp，可以播放 mp3, Ogg, wav, CD 音樂。XMMS 提供了 輸出、輸入、音效、視覺四個 PlugIn ，透過這四個 PlugIn 可以播放相當多的音樂格式。可以讓使用者自行換新的外觀。 XMMS 可以直接使用 Linux 的音效支援，也可以支援 4Front 的 OSS 音效。
